YOGYAKARTA
Yogyakarta is a small city but there are many places where we can visit them. There are many temples in the province, such as Prambanan, Kalasan and Sambi Sari. There are also two palaces that we must not miss, Hamengkubuwono and Pakualam Palace.
Yogyakarta is a tropical city. There are palm trees and other tropical fruit trees. There are also beautiful beaches, such us Parangtritis, Krakal, Kukup Glagah. It is not difficult to get around the city at the day because taxis and buses are easily found. Unfortunately, there is no bus in evening. The only way to see the nightlife of the city is by taxi, but it rare at night. I like Yogyakarta because it’s a beautiful and peaceful city.
Yogyakarta is a city in the Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. It is renowned as a center of classical Javanese fine art and culture such as batik, ballet, drama, music, poetry, and puppet shows. It is also famous as a center for Indonesian higher education. Yogyakarta was the Indonesian capital during the Indonesian National Revolution from 1945 to 1949.
Most population is Javanese, but being a student city, there are also significant population of people from other ethnics in Indonesia. This status makes Yogyakarta as one of the most heterogenous city in terms of ethnicity in Indonesia. Indonesian as the official national language, and Javanese are widely used as daily spoken languages, especially by the Javanese. Yogyakarta is also known as a culture city because it has a lot of wonderful cultures.
The site of several major universities, Yogyakarta is widely recognized as an educational city. The northern part of the city is home to Gadjah Mada University, the oldest and most prestigious public university in Indonesia. From Gadjah Mada University many people become success and have good education.Beside that, everything in Yogyakarta is cheap enough. Some other famous universities in Yogyakarta are Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Institut Sains dan Teknologi AKPRIND – Yogyakarta, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (for the UGM, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta being the only state universities in Yogyakarta).
